  • MUCHAS GRACIAS Houston High School!!!! Spanish Circle has collected 253 pairs of solar eclipse glasses to be donated to South America. This is the last call for donations. Please bring any remaining glasses to be donated by Monday, April 22nd.

  • In preparation for next year, the Houston High School Student Council is seeking members. If you are currently in 6th through 11th grade, you can apply. 5 members will be selected from each grade level. Come to the main office and pick up a yellow paper. This sheet is due Wednesday April 24th, and it requires you to get both a parent and teacher to sign off, so make sure to pick it up this week so you have time to get it turned in.   • There will be a 6th and 7th grade boys basketball meeting on Friday during Wildcat Time in Mr. Fledderjohann’s classroom.

  • Sophomores: if you are planning to go to UVCC next year, do not forget that tonight is Meet the Teacher night. This is Open House-style and runs from 6:00-7:30 PM. Take your parents along so they can meet your instructor and see the lab you will be in next year. This is not a required event, but it will help you in your transition to the new school environment. See Mrs. Merickel with any questions.

  • Emilee Earl broke her own Pole Vault record of 11’0 last night at the Covington meet with a jump of 11’3! Way to go Emilee!

  • Once again we have a student nominated to become Artist of the week through our Online portfolio. This is a National competition and therefore we need your votes for Alyssa Sweargin. Please check your email for the link to vote for your fellow classmate. You can vote once a day until the event is over on Saturday.

  • JH softball practice has been changed for today. It is 7:15-8:45 PM in the HS Gym

  • Not sure what to do with your solar eclipse glasses now that it has passed? Spanish Circle will collect any solar eclipse glasses in good condition to be donated to school children in South America for their eclipse in October. Glasses may be put in the basket in Señora Chappie’s room. The last day to donate is this Friday.

  • There will be a boys basketball meeting in Coach Fledderjohann’s room during WT today for 8th-11th grade boys interested in playing basketball next year. Please see Coach Fledderjohann with any questions.

  • There will be a girls basketball meeting for girls currently in 8-11 grade in the Commons today.

  • Saturday School tomorrow morning will be held in Mr. Brown’s classroom.

  • Reminder: that there is no school on Monday.

  • How would you like the opportunity to do something helpful and meaningful this summer? The Shelby County Conservation Day Camp, which is held in Sidney, is seeking camp counselors. Any student in grades 7 through 12 may apply. If you like being outside and working with younger kids, this would be a great opportunity for you. Stop by Mrs. Merickel’s office to pick up information and an application.

  • On Tuesday April 9th we will take group photos. The following groups will have the pictures taken. Please bring uniform or t-shirts of any club you may be involved in.
